WP Simplicity Review–Read Before You Buy

The WP Simplicity plugin holds true to its name.  It simplifies WordPress set up tasks.  It comes preloaded with plugins, so you don’t have to gather each one separately.  It also puts affiliate products and other content on your blog.  All this is managed from plugin’s Admin area.

What this plugin does is save a great deal of time when setting up a WP blog.    It certainly makes the whole set up process easier and more efficient.

To be fair, WordPress cloning software is being used by some to save time on setting up blogs.  It just copies the exact same plugins and add-ons from a previous blog.  However, this can cause some problems.

The cloning method I used caused my database to crash.  Seems it didn’t like that it contained more than one WordPress blog; which is how the plugin in had to be installed.  It ran off one main blog.

I ended up having to separate the blogs and reloading all the plugins and other add-ons.  This was a pain!  Honestly, I would probably have more blogs out there if setting up blogs wasn’t so time consuming.

Issues?

So, what are the issues, because we all know that nothing is 100% perfect.

Well, automation is great, saves time and can make you money.  However, I would caution against thinking this is “set it and forget it”.   Once your blogs are set up, they must be monitored to make sure the plugins and links are working correctly.  As a general rule, you should do this.  Or, have someone else do it for you.

Changes do occur, such as WordPress updates, affiliate product tracking changes, Amazon and Ebay moving around its categories, article directory and video category and sub-category adjustments.  When these modifications occur, your links are sometimes affected, too.  So, even with this plugin, you still have to periodically check on your blogs.

In the end, the software is worthwhile, but it has to respond to all of these changes, when they happen.  Otherwise, it will be money down the drain.  So far, the product creators seem to be prepared for this, and have vowed to keep it current.

Personally, I think a  plugin like this is long overdue.
